Extension and Landscape for a Hotel in Luxembourg.

In collaboration with Albert Wagener Architectes et Associés, we developed an extension and landscape intervention for the Alvisse Parc Hotel. The project responded to a pragmatic brief: the addition of spa facilities, ancillary storage spaces, and the reorganisation of the surrounding gardens.

Constructed over several phases, the existing hotel presented a fragmented architectural language. The intervention sought not to impose a contrasting identity, but rather to establish continuity through proportion, rhythm, and material presence. The new spa façade adopts the cadence of the existing elevations while introducing larger openings that bring greater light and visual permeability to the interior spaces. The structural ring beam was displaced and absorbed into the façade composition, mediating between the upper and lower glazing and reinforcing the horizontal order of the extension.

The landscape proposal was conceived as a counterpoint to the orthogonal character of the building. A more informal and natural geometry softens the transition towards the outdoor pools, creating an environment that feels quieter and less controlled. The planting strategy draws on species already present within the local context — shrubs and perennial flowers selected for their resilience, ease of maintenance, and capacity to sustain a changing seasonal atmosphere throughout the year.
